For kids ages six and over, the Museum of Modern Art has rounded up some of their favorite drawing, collage, audio, and movement activities inspired by artworks in MoMA’s vast collection. Paint while painting with your wonderful mom! This is a great and fun stress-free idea to celebrate Mother’s Day. 1.5 hour painting party led by an expert artist to guide you through the creation of a painting. $20 per person.
Mom and Kids create one painting made of two paintings/two canvases: each person will paint on an individual canvas that will be the matching half to their partner’s painting, and vice versa. Solo participants are welcome. Each individual can also paint their own painting without matching the others. No experience needed. SNL is airing its third “At Home” episode on Saturday, Mother’s Day Eve, and it’ll be the finale of the 45th season. For the Mom Who Loves Theater: Broadway Does Mother’s Day
Billed as a “One Time Event, Just Like Your Birth”, the Broadway community is coming together to give everyone the Mother’s Day matinee we need! Join Broadway stars, their children, and their mothers on Sunday @ 3 pm ET for a celebratory explosion of musical numbers, comedy, special guests, and lots of surprises.
This one-time event (just like your birth) will feature sketches and performances from Broadway shows including “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” and “Jagged Little Pill” and Broadway stars including Bernadette Peters, Harvey Fierstein, Lea DeLaria, Jennifer Holliday, Vanessa Williams and Beanie Feldstein. Tune in on Broadway.com.
