Vienna, 1791

An inexplicable malady is making the rounds of the city’s young men. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is not just ill but deathly so when a strange messenger delivers a commission to write a requiem mass. The client prefers to remain secret. Rattled to his core, a fragile Mozart accepts the commission. And so, we have the astonishing Requiem in D Minor. And the chance to hear it performed, as Central City Opera, with the Denver Philharmonic and the Performing Arts Academy’s gifted students, lift it up. Surely a transporting experience, meant to be shared.

The concert program includes:

Rossini | La gazza ladra Overture

Ponchielli | “Dance of the Hours” from La Gioconda

Borodin | “Polovetsian Dances” from Prince Igor

Mozart | Requiem

Concert Dates: November 15th and 16th

Location: Central Presbyterian Church, 1660 Sherman Street, Denver, CO
